About Christina Van Houten
Founder and Writer
For the last twenty years, my career has been in the technology industry at larger companies like Oracle and IBM and the smaller start-up firms that were acquired by them. Before that, my early jobs were in non-profit and public sector work, followed by an entrepreneurial stint manufacturing women's athletic apparel. Throughout this random professional journey, I’ve had a variety of roles focused in business strategy, product management, marketing, and product development.
I earned a BA in Government and Theology from Georgetown University and attended the University of Chicago Booth School of Business where I received an MBA in Business Strategy. Originally from a big, awesome family in Oklahoma and a product of seventeen years of Catholic education (thirteen in a royal blue and white uniform ☺), I have lived in DC, Phoenix, and Chicago. For the past two and a half decades, I've lived in Boston, my husband's hometown, and reluctantly become a Sox, Pats, and Celtics fan, mainly because I love my boys and that's what they love.
Most recently, I decided to kick off what many call the “third chapter” of my career and life by buying a “vacation” house back in my hometown of Tulsa. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years and even though it’s only been a few months, putting roots back down in the place that still owned my heart and soul has changed my life in the most amazing ways and I know the best is yet to come.
